Aggressive Criminal Enforcement

The Criminal Interdiction unit consists of a two man unit.  This unit is responsible for intercepting  the illegal flow of narcotics traveling Interstate 40 and the highways that flow through Henderson County.  This unit is designed to detect crimes and the persons who commit them through aggressive traffic enforcement and patrol tactics.  Through aggressive enforcement of traffic laws, the Henderson County Sheriff Office tackles two issues.  First, it helps improve traffic safety and reduce potential accidents causing loss of life and property.  Second, it gives the officers the opportunity to conduct field investigations that may produce confiscated drugs and weapons, the arrest of drunk drivers, the arrest of persons whose driver licenses may be suspended or revoked because of drunk driving and/or other crimes, and persons who are wanted on arrest warrants.  This unit has already seized over 200 lbs. of Marijuana, 5 kilos of Cocaine and over $361,000 in U.S. Currency.
